1860 Army Brass Frame .44 Caliber Black Powder Pistol Firing Reproduction: The Model 1860 Revolver evolved from its 1851 relative to become the most commonly issued sidearm in the Union. Its popularity carried over to the Confederate troops, who procured them by whatever means necessary. The .44 Caliber round was an attractive alternative to the .36 caliber predecessor.
